The Bowen Center is well-equipped help veterans and their families cope with the many challenges of military life.

In the fall of 2012, the Otis R. Bowen Center for Human Services was named a Military-Ready Behavioral Health Provider Organization by the Indiana Veterans Behavioral Health Network (IVBHN).

To receive the designation, clinicians at each of the Center's locations underwent training to learn about military culture, individual and family concerns that occur during military deployments, and post-deployment transition difficulties.

There will be on-going refresher training the clinicians will attend with topics such as family stress, substance abuse, Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Military Ready Behavioral Health Provider Organization designation program was developed as a means to establish a network of veteran-friendly behavioral health providers through the Indiana Veterans Behavioral Health Network.

The Bowen Center initially received a two-star rating from the IVBHN and continues to strive to improve on this designation.
