Dr. Melancon currently serves as the assistant county director/psychologist at The Bowen Center’s corporate headquarters office in Warsaw.
Having joined The Bowen Center in August, 2008, Dr. Melancon conducts individual and family therapy as well as psychological assessments. Her supervisory duties include the oversight and training of more than 60 clinical staff as well overseeing the center’s day-to-day operations and clinical program development.
Dr. Melancon specializes in play therapy and conducting parenting risk evaluations for the Department of Children’s Services.
She is a graduate of Wright State University’s School of Professional Psychology in Dayton, Ohio, earning a Doctor of Psychology Degree in September, 1997.
Dr. Melancon completed her Internship year at the VAMC in Houston, TX. As a post-doctoral resident she served assistant director, then as clinical operations coordinator of the Counseling Center at Wright State University. She has also worked at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, where she worked with an on-site unit for mothers with newborns. She has also served as clinical director of an Alternative Learning Center, clinical supervisor at an outpatient child clinic, and director of an ACT(Assertive Community Treatment Team. Dr. Melancon was also the director of the Preble County office of the Good Samaritan Hospital Counseling and Treatment Centers.
